There wasn’t even that much to discuss this week; hell, two shows didn’t even feature any Black performers. I don’t know why it took so long to get this recap completed. I blame Impact wrestling.
Pump fake! Who? Who? Who else but the New Day could make a faux invasion so hot? They then get a king’s welcome from Shane McMahon. Of course, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn were not fans of anything that Shane supports leading to Kofi getting a shot at Zayn. It was decent throw away match between two guys who can go. I anticipate more where this came from.
Cezar Bononi took the fall to the man with an impossible mission. The Velveteen Dream continues to press Aleister Black to say his name. The two big men traded blows before Dream eventually overpowered his opponent and landed a dead valley driver and pin.
Countdown the days till Final Battle. We may be in for a treat when Jay Lethal takes on the Villain, Marty Scurll after the latter issued the challenge. Lethal didn’t hesitate to accept and hinted at reintroducing his villainous side. Let’s do this.
Young JJ aka Jason Jordan is still shining on Elias. He cashes in his receipt by winning the Guitar on a Pole match even after not getting to the instrument first. Daddy Kurt pays it forward by making his new found son as the last member of Team Raw for the upcoming Survivor Series.
Yay…Sasha Banks won a match by handling her opponents (said in the most sarcastic of voices). Sasha and Bayley, the women’s version of the BFFs, scored a win over the team of Capt. Alicia Fox and Nia Jax. Banks earned a spot on the team since she “impressed” Foxy so well or maybe it’s because made her tap so hard that she had no choice but to extend an invite.
There were a couple title matches that would impact the Survivor Series card. None would mean less than the Usos taking on Shelton Benjamin and Chad Gable, American Alpha 2. There wasn’t much to review from this match since Gable took out Use with a chop block resulting in a count out. Not title change; nothing to write about.
Well, Kenny King didn’t get to defend his title against Mark Brisco since Jay threw in the towel. What ensued was a number of would be contenders for the television title crashing the party. They all got a springboard dive from King for their efforts.
