Black Wrestla’ Recap 3/05

D.R.E.A.M.: That is his name. Velveteen Dream matched the speed and style of the former European champ in Tyler Bate. The NXT Superstar of the Year is biding his time until his next big program. It would be less than impressive if he did not have a huge role during Mania weekend.

It’s hard not to be high on Cedric Alexander. I wonder if he is on a crash course with Roderick Strong being as I don’t recall a tourney bracket being displayed anywhere. TJP is no small potatoes on the work side; true to WWE fashion, the match started at a slow pace to ensure that the intensity was high gear by the end of the match. This was as close to the cruiser weight action we will get.

If I’m right, we should have seen the last of Bobby Lashley on Impact. He received a backstage beat down from oVe. I doubt we’ll be getting a follow up with Eddie Edwards eye and all.

Ring of Honor puts a spin on tag matches that is not familiar to WWE fans. This week future foes team up to take on a team of future foes when Jay Lethal and Dalton Castle challenged Marty Scurll and Punishment Martinez. No one really stole the stage, which made this a pretty great match, but Lethal did close the match with a lethal injection following confusion between Scurll and Martinez.

The run of the brand is over? Sheamus kicked the holy hell out of Titus O’Neil that he was dazed for the first half of the second fall. Apollo Crews can still lose. Two straight falls, and the champs retain their titles while the brothers of Titus Worldwide are left looking for the Crews.

SmackDown Live is teasing us with the opportunity to see a feud once thought to be dead in the Usos and the New Day. This time it is not the same. Of course, it is entertaining because of the synergy between the groups, but we were just here a few months ago.

Will the days of Bayley and Sasha Banks come to an end? Bayley abandoned Banks in her time of need to pay back the betrayal in the chamber. They still managed to pull a tag team victory over Nia Jax and her best friend Alexa Bliss. Sasha’s Mixed Match Challenge team also fell to Asuka and her mighty streak.

Joseph Parks still trying to keep Abyss away from the ring. For his troubles, he got squashed by Kongo Kong. Kong low key hitting that top turnbuckle like Jimmy Snuka.

Tyrus…nuff said.
