Impact!
There was little comic relief for Dezmond Xavier and the Rascalz for a change. The Desi Hit Squad came calling for a 3 on 3 match that was nothing more than a show case for the Squad. All three Rascalz were ran through before the closing bell. C
The reunion of former partners, Moose and Stephan Bonnar, was a bloodbath somewhat. Moose triggered the DQ taking his issues with Ken Shamrock out on Bonnar. Ken came to the rescue and slapped an ankle lock on the Bound for Glory opponent. B-
SmackDown Live
Cancer survivors were given championship titles by The New Day just before a six-man tag match against the OC. This was pretty forgetable contest with the New Day taking the win, and Kofi Kingston is still being sent out here as if he didn’t just drop a title he carried for 6 months. C
Raw
Call this match the superhero versus the veteran. A rising Ricochet shared the stage with Sheldon Benjamin. Both of these men have the motor to produce magic, but this match was not that. The Recoil signled the end of a less-than-spectacular presentation. C-
Cedric Alexander renewed a cruiserweight rivalry; he and Buddy Murphy showed the Universe what Raw was getting from the purple brand. They followed a rather bland segment which may have impacted the reception of the match. Cedric took a loss that didn’t do much in the grand scheme of things. B-
NXT
There will be a little time without Velveteen Dream to keep him out of the title picture for the moment. On-screen, he was taken out by the Undisputed Era. B+
Dream’s break meant a spot needed to be filled, and filled it was in the form of Keith Lee and his feud with Dominik Dijakovic. They were booked in a Number One Contender’s match for the North American Championship. The much acclaimed rubber match would have no outcome following a chair shot from the champ, but not before Lee and foe did the dirty work to entertain the masses. Just like that, there is triple threat championship match on the horizon. A-
SmackDown Live
It’s back to the cheerleading role for a former WWE Champ in Kofi Kingston. He sat ringside while his New Day comrades joined Heavy Machinery to take on the SmackDown Tag champions, Dolph Ziggler, and Robert Roode. There’s nothing much to note here; the faces won and the danced to hype the crowd. C
